CC3C #22 Dimensional Cutting Pad

I am back to post my entry in the CC3C #22 hosted by the lovely Linda Ledbetter.  Please visit Linda blog here to find out more about the rules and details of the latest challenge.  It is all made possible by the inspiration of the  talented Tim Holtz, author of A Compendium of Curiosities Volume III.  This weeks challenge is hosted by the generous Linda Coughlin over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.  If you haven't had a chance to visit her site, you are missing out.  Now onward to my entry.  I was a bit intimidated by this challenge but I found that the technique added dimension to my simple card...hence the name.

I started by using the dimensional cutting pad to cut out my butterfly and then proceeded to emboss the image.  I tried it in  reverse order...but that didn't turn out so well.  I inked up my butterfly with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to make the embossing stand out. Next I stamped my dogwood image and water-colored it using Victorian Velvet and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink for the flowers, Mow Lawn and Pine Needle Distress Ink for the leaves, and Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo Distress Ink for the branches using the Waterbrush.  I added a simple sentiment and matted the piece on pink card stock.  I  really liked how the pink card stock made the butterfly pop.
Well that's all for me tonight.  Thanks for stopping by :)
