A Non-Traditional Valentine

For as many people who like the red and pink day filled with hearts and flowers, I am convinced that there are an equal number who would rather sleep through February 14th.  My daughter is one of those people.  For her, I made a non-traditional Valentine's Day card inspired by the colors of Astrid's journal pages and the uniqueness of Wendy's non-traditional Valentine.
My background is made by inking Weathered Wood Distress Ink through the Gothic stencil and embossing with clear embossing powder on a  piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock (smooth side), I then used the Harlequin stencil with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  I added color to the white areas of the card by gradually working in the aforementioned colors along with  Faded Jeans and Frayed Burlap.
I stamped the chandelier in Pumice Stone and gave it some sparkle with Rock Candy distress ink.  I also stamped LOVE and the definition of love in Wendy's Watering Can Archival Ink and Postcard in Wendy's Sky Blue Archival Ink.  My favorite part of the card is the embossed heart flower using Wendy's Sky Blue Archival Ink and Embossing Powder...what a cool technique.  I finished the card with an Industrious Frame and a silver heart suspended on a chain.

I would like to enter my card in the second  Make Art Challenge-Hearts/Love,  the Inspiration Journal Challenge-Love is in the Air, and the Artist Trading Post Challenge-Love is in the Air.

Well, there you have it, my non-traditional Valentine.  Thanks for stopping by :)
